Overview

About Applied Psychology Solutions

Dr Kathryn Newns, an experienced Clinical Psychologist and medico-legal expert co-founded APS in 2012 with Paul Newns and Susie O’Connor. APS started providing administrative and IT support for Psychologists, predominantly those carrying out medico-legal work.
We have since developed to broaden our support to include training and supervision but also to promote the services available from our affiliate psychologists including generating opportunities.
We aim to be better than our competitors by providing fairly priced services coupled with excellent customer service, and by being honest, transparent and respectful.
Our highly qualified affiliate psychologists work nationwide delivering expert witness assessments, treatment, training and consultancy.

What we think

Applied Psychology Solutions Ltd wants to be a market leader in the field and for our ethos to be a factor in why people choose us. We have principles that are central to our business and are designed into the way we work. We try to be; fair, honest, transparent, respectful, supportive, professional and adaptable. These principles ensure we offer a product that not only considers but champions equalities, the environment and a positive culture.

We operate in a complex world and appreciate our contribution to it. We recognise that there are characteristics that lead to inequalities. Characteristics that include; age, disability, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. We work to ensure that we are not contributing to these inequalities but rather actively engage to reduce inequality.

We acknowledge the threat to human existence that is climate change and believe it is our duty to do everything we can, no matter how small, to minimise our impact on the environment.

We accept that the working environment can lead to a great many negatives including exploitation, slavery, and bullying. We are alert to these and work to ensure, through our principles, that our working culture is a positive and healthy one. We strive not to contribute to negative working practices in others, for example, through our purchases.

As a mental health professional organisation, we pay particular attention to ensuring mental health is prioritised for everyone; staff, affiliates, clients, and partners.

We endeavour to work with people and organisations that are also committed to actively addressing inequality, climate change, slavery and exploitation.
